Abstract The race for the most efficient, accurate, and universal algorithm in scientific computing drives innovation. At same time, this healthy competition is only beneficial if research output actually comparable to prior results. Fairly comparing algorithms can be a complex endeavor, as implementation, configuration, compute environment, test problems need well‐defined. Due increase computer‐based experiments, new infrastructure facilitating exchange comparison of also needed. To end, we propose benchmark framework set generic specifications implementations using cases native community. Its value lies its ability fairly compare validate existing methods applications, well newly developed with ones. As prototype more general framework, have begun building tool model order reduction (MOR) data basis collection Model Order Reduction Wiki (MORWiki). wiki features three main categories: benchmarks, methods, software.
